PDF documents can be password-secured, or encrypted, by their creator for maximum security. Using the appropriate software, these settings may also be revised or removed later if necessary.
Adobe Acrobat

Download and install Adobe Acrobat if you do not already have it on your computer.
2.Run Acrobat and select 'File,' then 'Open' to find the PDF you wish to alter.
3.Click 'Document' from the top toolbar, then 'Security' from the drop-down menu. This opens a dialog box detailing the current security and permissions settings for your PDF.
4.Select the 'Edit' button to open the 'Change Security' dialog box. If you want to encrypt the document with a password, check the appropriate box and enter the desired password in the field.
5.Select the desired security options from beneath the 'Permissions' heading. At this point, you can enable or disable options such as printing, extraction of text or images and form filling.

Click 'OK' to save your PDF's new security settings.
ParmisPDF
1.Download and install the free trial version of ParmisPDF.

5.Click the 'Security' category in the column on the left. Set your desired permissions.
Tips
- Adobe Acrobat can be used as a full-featured trial before purchase is required. Permissions cannot be altered in Adobe Reader.
